Loving My Country... in Spite of Everything

Our part-time minister, Rev. Anne Hines, gives her sermon titled, “Loving My Country…in Spite of Everything.”   Many of us are disturbed these days -- even appalled and outraged -- at the actions and rhetoric of much of our country's leadership, as well as many religious leaders. We are dismayed at the continuing lack of civility and compassion on the part of some of our fellow citizens -- even in the midst of a global pandemic that threatens us all. On this, the weekend when we celebrate our nation's birth, it behooves us to remember what keeps us loyal to America, in spite of everything.
